December 5th, 2007 by AndyMost of you know that I make videos for a local website called Rapid Growth. This week includes a video I’ve made about riding the bus. We’re trying to create a little buzz around transit issues in advance of a meeting of the Kent County Commissioners about transit next week. For a number of reasons, transit is an issue that I personally feel we should care about. A quality and viable transit system is good creation care, connects us as a community and touches on matters of social justice as well. Most people have no clue how important the bus is to Grand Rapids youth.There are hundreds of foster kids and teens that have no one to take them to see family or Dr. appointments.I feel most of middle class Grand Rapids would never use the bus so there is no reason for a personal stake on how it effects the over all life of the city.
