One of my favorite places to work is a little dive called La Flor. It is this wonderful little restaurant near the corner of Burton and Eastern. They serve breakfast all day, brew a good cup of coffee, and have free wifi! I’ve been getting to know and love the owners, Jose and Lisa, lately. And so, today when i went in to La Flor today and saw that they had been broken into over night it really broke my heart. Somebody threw a rock through one of their windows and waltzed in and stole the video projector attached to the ceiling along with the screen on the wall. Jose and Lisa have expressed that the life of young restaurant owners has been difficult as off late. They really didn’t need this.

As I was talking with Jose about this yuckiness, he wondered if i had met two gentlemen who were sitting at another table. No, i replied. Come on, I’ll introduce you, they’re reverends too he says. And so, even on a crappy day for Jose, he saw fit to introduce me to Geoffery and John, two of the coolest pastors i’ve met in a long time. They chaplain at the truck stop for cryin out loud! I sat down and was blessed by these guys and when all was said and down they proceeded to pay for my lunch… I love this job!
